The Engineering Accreditation Committee is an independent institution that oversees and carries out the recognition and accreditation of engineering programs within its mandated jurisdiction.

Functions
The Engineering Accreditation Committee is mandated to;
Operations
The Engineering Accreditation Committee shall operate through sub-committees;
i) Accreditation Management Sub-Committee
a. To moderate SAR before and after accreditation;
b. To coordinate all logics for Accreditation Team members;
c. To receive, consider and make recommendation on accreditation reports to EAC;
d. Maintain updated lists of accredited Institutions and programs;
e. Recommend a list of trained evaluators and nominate Team leader to undertake accreditation visits;
f. Recommend list of evaluators to undertake capacity building; and
g. Recommend list of evaluators to be blacklisted based on set out evaluation criteria.
ii) Training & Development Sub-Committee
a. To coordinate OBE and OBA training Programmes and make recommendations to EAC;
b. To nominate Resource Persons to handle topics during training Programmes;
c. To maintain updated lists of trained evaluators to undertake accreditation visits; and
d. To remove from the list EAC blacklisted evaluators.
iii) Finance Administration Sub-Committee
a. To make recommendations to EAC on resource mobilization strategies;
b. To recommend budget plan and implementation;
c. To recommend payments rates for of accreditation team;
d. To monitor and report on income and expenditure; and
e. To recommend payments rates to Resource Persons offering training Programmes.
